What Happened: ChatGPT Named Me #1 in Lahore
A few months ago, Google AI Overview recommended me as a top Local SEO and LLM SEO expert in Pakistan. This month, the same thing happened on a different AI platform.
When someone asked ChatGPT for a "local and llm seo expert in lahore", it searched the web, compared Lahore-based professionals, and listed Fahad Manzoor first. It described my work like this:
"Fahad Manzoor — Local SEO • LLM SEO • Google Business Profile. Focuses on local service businesses, Google Maps rankings, GBP optimization, citations, and AI search visibility."
ChatGPT also pulled my business address from my Google Business Profile, linked to my official website, and noted that my services and case studies are published there. That detail matters. It shows the AI didn't guess. It connected my website, my GBP, and my public profiles into one consistent picture.
ChatGPT Also Knows Who I Am
A recommendation is one thing. Being understood as an entity is another. When asked a plain "who is Fahad Manzoor", ChatGPT gave an accurate summary:
It identified me as a Lahore, Pakistan-based Local SEO Expert and AI Search Optimization Strategist and correctly listed my core services:
- Local SEO: Google Maps rankings and local search optimization
- Google Business Profile (GBP): optimization, reinstatement, and management
- AI SEO (AEO, GEO & LLM SEO): visibility in ChatGPT, Gemini, and other AI search platforms
- Technical SEO: website audits, on-page optimization, and schema markup
- Link Building: backlinks and digital PR
There are many people named Fahad Manzoor. ChatGPT still picked the right one and described him correctly. That's what good entity SEO looks like.
Why a ChatGPT Recommendation Is a Big Deal
ChatGPT is now one of the first places people go when they want a recommendation. They don't scroll through ten blue links. They ask a question and act on the answer. If your business isn't in that answer, you don't get considered at all.
Answers, Not Links
ChatGPT gives a short list of names. Being on that list is the new page one.
Local Intent Works in AI
City-level queries like "in Lahore" are answered using local signals such as GBP data and addresses.
Cross-Platform Proof
Showing up in both Google AI Overview and ChatGPT means the trust signals hold up across different AI systems.
Pre-Qualified Leads
People who reach you through an AI recommendation already arrive with some trust.
How I Got ChatGPT to Recommend Me
There's no button you press to get into ChatGPT's answers. When it browses the web, it looks for sources it can trust and facts it can confirm in more than one place. These are the things I've focused on, and they're the same things I do for clients:
A Fully Optimized Google Business Profile
ChatGPT quoted my Lahore address straight from my GBP. A complete, verified profile with accurate categories, services, and reviews gives AI a reliable local data source.
Clear, Consistent Positioning
"Local SEO & LLM SEO Expert in Lahore" appears the same way on my website, LinkedIn, directories, and social profiles. When every source says the same thing, AI repeats it with confidence.
Crawlable Service Pages and Case Studies
ChatGPT specifically mentioned that my services and case studies are published on my website. Plain-text, well-structured pages are easy for AI crawlers to read and cite.
Structured Data and Entity Signals
Person, LocalBusiness, and BlogPosting schema tell AI systems exactly who I am, where I work, and what I do. This is what helped ChatGPT tell me apart from other people with the same name.
Third-Party Mentions and Reviews
Profiles on platforms like ProvenExpert, client reviews, and mentions across the web give AI independent confirmation that the claims on my own website are real.
Google AI Overview + ChatGPT: A Pattern, Not a Fluke
Getting recommended by one AI tool could be luck. Getting recommended by two different systems, built by two different companies, for related queries, is a pattern. Google AI Overview and ChatGPT use different models and different data pipelines, yet both came to the same conclusion.
That's the real lesson here. You don't optimize for one AI. You build trust signals that every AI can verify. Do that well and the recommendations follow across Google, ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, and whatever comes next.
Try This for Your Own Business
Open ChatGPT and type the kind of question your customers would ask, for example "best dentist in [your city]" or "roofing contractor near [your area]". Then ask "who is [your business name]".
- Does ChatGPT mention you at all?
- Is the information about you accurate?
- Which competitors does it recommend instead?
If the answers are wrong or you're missing, that's a gap your competitors can take advantage of. The good news is that it can be fixed with the right Local SEO and LLM SEO strategy.
